Somerset Waste Recycle More Scheme
West Bagborough Parish Council
The following is an extract from the official notices of the new scheme.
Recycle More comes to Taunton Deane at the start of November —the area covered by the former TDBC, including Taunton, Wellington and Wiveliscombe.
The rest of the SWT district, the West Somerset area, is due to get the new service in early 2022 along with Sedgemoor.
Recycle More works best if you make full use of your weekly recycling collections. Make sure you have all the containers you need. If you don’t currently recycle food waste, now is a great time to start.
Everyone can have green and black recycling boxes and food waste bins. You can order new or replacement boxes or bins FREE using the My Waste Services menu at www.somersetwaste.gov.uk
The first leaflet should be delivered across the area from Monday 20 Sept. It gives an introduction to Recycle More, its timescales and how people can prepare.
A second leaflet, delivered from 11 Oct, will include a ‘what goes where?’ guide to recycling with the new service; it will also include an individual collection day calendar of recycling and rubbish collections for the coming year.
These items will be added to weekly recycling collections:
- plastic pots, tubs and trays
- food & drink cartons (Tetra Pak etc) - small household batteries
- small electrical items (kettles etc)
You will receive a new recycling container – a Bright Blue Bag – delivered to all homes.
Rubbish will be collected every three weeks once the new scheme starts.
Collection days will change for more than half of households.
